Pathology is one of the basic medical specializations focusing on macroscopic and microscopic/histopathological diagnosis, education, and research using a large spectrum of methodological approaches. The research in pathology is preferentially focused on oncological pathology. The objectives of the doctoral study programme include obtaining both theoretical and practical research skills that allow graduates to work as independent scientists and present their results at specialized conferences and in papers published by first-rate Czech and international peer-reviewed journals with impact factor. Students are also involved in teaching undergraduate medical and dentistry students at the Faculty of Medicine, gain healthcare experience in pathology, and receive training and education necessary to receive certification in the given field.
