After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:

• use the theoretical and methodological knowledge particularly in the area of organization of justice, civil procedure, criminal procedure and administrative procedure;
• use the basic knowledge in the area of the most important private-law and public-law disciplines;
• interpret and apply the legal norms in the above mentioned areas, - and make use of it in practice;
• use the procedural legal regulations during the civil procedure, criminal procedure or administrative procedure;

The graduate of the Bachelor’s study programme Senior Officer of Justice can make use of the acquired knowledge and skills particularly within the department of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. With regard to a nature of education the acquired knowledge is applicable also for work of persons engaged in private legal professions, for example legal attorneys, notaries public or executors.

The standard duration of studies in the Bachelor's study programme Legal Specialization, the study discipline Senior Officer of Justice is three years. For succesful graduation it is necessary to obtain a total of 180 credits while maintaining the prescribed structure of the required and selective courses, passing the examinations, credit tests and colloquiums set by the study plan.

During the study the student is obliged to complete successfully the selective courses in total value of 13 credits. The selective courses are announced in autumn and spring semesters of a given academic year. Besides the selective courses from the offer of the study plan of his/her study programme, the student is entitled to enroll courses from the study plans of other Bachelor's study programmes realized at Masaryk University as his/her selective courses. For fulfilment of required completion of selective courses (including the total credit value for selective courses) only the courses provably related to a graduate's profile of the given study shall be credited. Upon a written request of the student the Vice dean decides on recognition of the course completed at other faculty of Masaryk University up to the minimum number of the completed selective courses. The recognition is also conditioned by the fact that the course has not been completed as a required course within the scope of the previous or parallel studies.

During the course of their studies the students should follow the Study catalogue" for their year of imatriculation. They can access the "Study catalogues" through the Faculty website.

The final state examination consists of two parts: drawing up the thesis and the defence of diploma task, and oral part.

The diploma task is to prove the ability (professional competence) of the student to solve an assigned case within the scope of the competences of Senior Judicial Office or Senior Officer of State Prosecution. The diploma task is divided into two constituent parts, alternatively two tasks: drawing up and defence of the task from civil judicial proceedings; drawing up and the defence of the task from criminal proceedings. Drawing up the both constituent parts is obligatory. Drawing up the diploma task will be divided into two time periods with the duration of 90 minutes which are separated by a pause.The first phase is connected with a written diploma task from civil judicial proceedings, the second one with criminal proceedings; the diploma task may be drawn up only within the time period which is determined for it, it means the work is not allowed to be extended into another phase or to start it in the previous phase. The work shall be drawn up in a classroom equipped with faculty computers. Every student will have a computer at his/her disposal and he/she will write the diploma task with it. In addition to usual office applications every computer will have an access to ASPI, Beck-online and will contain the stored patterns of procedural actions issud by the Ministry of Justice. The access to internet will be denied (apart from Beck-online). Besides the literature and judicature accessible from the stated legal information systems the students may independently use also own literature which they will take with them. The defence and assessment of the diploma task will be taken in the introduction of oral part of the final state examination. At first a competent examiner will discuss his/her diploma task with the student, give him/her an opportunity to express himself/herself to the contested faults, assess it and only then accedes to answer a question of oral part.

The oral part of the final state examination consists of three courses. Two courses are the required courses, namely: Civil Law (substantive and procedural) and Criminal Law (substantive and procedural). Third course is the selected course chosen by a student from the following courses: Commercial Law; Administrative Law; European International Private and Procedural Law.

After the successful completion of the study it is possible to continue in follow-up Master's study, however only in the study programme Public Administration, the field of study Public Administration whose completion is not considered for the coherent legal education. After its completion it is not possible to carry out some professions in the judiciary, state prosecution, advocacy etc.

The completion of the discipline of the Bachelor's study does not constitute an entitlement to ensuring a study in second degree. The possibility of the study at the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in the follow-up Master's degree Public Administration is governed by the actual Conditions for admission to study announced for the given academic year.
