After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:

• have the basic orientation in the issue of law and public administration as required for activity at all levels of the state administration and self-administration;
• formulate the drafts and viewpoints for application of relevant legal regulations during the activity of public administration;
• argue for concrete legal solution of a certain legal question;
• work systematically with legal regulations, judicature, legal information systems and other sources of legal information;
• adapt to the changed economic and legal conditions in future on the basis of the general knowledge framework and specialized knowledge;

The study programme Public Administration is designed as general and special preparation for the performance of white collar professions in public administration and in public sector at all. The graduate of the Bachelor's study Public Administration shall find career opportunities particularly in bodies of public administration, thus at all levels of the state administration and self-administration, including the managerial posts in other institutions of public sector, which corresponds to professional position "officer of public administration". The target group of study applicants are persons from practice whose effort is to increase their qualification or extention of qualification. The programme is not primarily aimed at so called regulated professions.

The standard duration of studies is six semesters. The semester is limited in time and scope of the required and selective courses which the student is obliged to register and whose required completion the student is obliged to fulfil. During the creation of the study plan the student is obliged to follow: a) the general conditions stated by the MU Study and Examination Regulations, the Dean's regulation on study in the Bachelor's and Master's study programme and in related regulations; b) the conditions of the Common description of study plans of the programme Public Administration; c) the conditions of procedure in the study stated by the study regulations and study plan of the discipline; d) the prerequisites for enrolment of some courses. The required courses are these which the student is obliged to register respecting the stated prerequisites and conditions of procedure in the study and which has to complete succesfully for the succesful graduation of the study. During the study the student is obliged to enroll all required courses of the study programme (unless otherwise provided for description of the study) and discipline. The student is obliged to enroll one of the discipline's specialization (General Public Administration; Cadastral Administration; Financial Administration; Administration of Social Security) during the period of registration of the cources concerning the fourth semester. The courses of specialization are then the required courses for him/her. The selective courses are such courses which are chosen by the studen from a wider variety of courses of the study plan stated for a given academic year and respective semester. During the study the student is obliged to complete succesfully the selective courses in total value of credits set in the description of the study plan of a given discipline and specialization.

Besides the selective courses from offer of the study plan of his/her discipline the student may enroll the courses from the study plans of other Bachelor's study programmes realized at Masaryk University as his/her selective courses. For fulfilment of the required completion of selective courses (including the total credit value for selective courses) only the courses provably related to a graduate's profile of a given study shall be credited. You will find access to study catalogues of individual years of imatriculation through the faculty website.

The concept of study programme is given by a prerequisite that the student chose this study during the performance of his/her employment and profession. Practical training is not an obligatory part of this study.

The final state examination consists of two parts - defence of the Bachelor's thesis and oral examination consisting of three courses. The objective of the examination it to verify if the student (graduate) is able to conduct discussion in the chosen area of legal specialization. The objective of the oral examination is not to repeat the examinations in individual courses, but to demonstrate a general overview of basic terms and results of individual disciplines of study and links between them.

The oral examination consists of two required courses (Legal Doctrine; Administrative Law) and one course, which is given by a choice of study specialization: Financial Administration and Financial Law (for the study specialization Financial Administration); Cadastral Administration and Land Law (for the study specialization Cadastral Administration); Administration of Social Security (for the study specialization Administration of Social Security; Public Administration and Administrative Science (for the study specialization General Public Administration). An integral part of the final state examination is also the defence of the Bachelor's thesis.

By drawing up the Bachelor's thesis the student demonstrates orientation in the area given by the theme of work and the ability to formulate independently a professional text under the supervision of a person conducting the Bachelor's work. Insight into the theme, orientation in it and ability to demonstrate the knowledge of the given work are evaluated within the defence.

The study programme Public Administration is designed as general and special preparation for the performance of white collar professions in public administration and in public sector at all. The graduate of the Bachelor's study may continue in second degree of higher education study at any establishment of higher education in compliance with the declared conditions for admission procedure (follow-up Master's study). This follow-up study is not the Master's study programme "Law". One of the possibilities of the study is also the follow-up Master's study programme Public Administration, the discipline Public Administration, accredited and realized by the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University.
