After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:
- use their deep knowledge of the discipline
- apply knowledge in the discipline in teaching students in line with the curricula of the secondary school
- draw on a wide range of didactic methods and techniques including the use of ICT at school; approach students in a differentiated way
- manage the teaching process in class, motivate students, and evaluate their performance
- communicate and cooperate with students, their parents, colleagues and other external subjects efficiently
- approach students in a differentiated way;
In line with the educational programme and the nature of the Master’s study programme, the Teaching Degree in Pedagogy for Secondary Schools focuses on the following areas:
Theory and methodology: The goal is to provide students with expertise and theoretical knowledge as well as skills in domains important for performing the teaching profession such as research in social and educational phenomena, an overview of school policies issues, knowledge of systems of formal education (home and abroad), knowledge and skills in special pedagogy and diagnostics, an overview of approaches to school management and pedagogical evaluation etc.;
Pedagogy and psychology: The goal is to acquaint students comprehensively with issues in social pedagogy, general didactics, participants in education, as well as the major topics in psychology of education such as learning processes, pupil/student personality, teacher personality psychology, and many others;
Pedagogy and didactics: The focus is on development of professional, social, and personal competences. Students focus specifically on teaching pedagogy at secondary schools including pedagogical record-keeping, communication with parents and colleagues, etc.
