At the end of the program the student will have the basic theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the fields of Lower Secondary School Teacher Training in Music, pedagogy and psychology. Graduates possess competences of assistant instructors for music education at schools.
After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:
- have general cultural knowledge and skills
- have special professional musical knowledge and skills
- have education and communication knowledge and skills focused on music
Music lessons teacher assistants at the Lower Secondary Schools, instructors for leisure time centers in the field of art.
Standard length of studies is 3 years. A part of the studies is foreign language, basic advanced knowledge of the language is expected at the minimal level A2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), which is built on in classes.
The thesis defence is a part of the final state examination in the case, if it is assigned at the Department of Music.
The state final examination consists of the theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part draws on the fields of music history, music theory, harmony and musical forms, the practical part is focused on playing an instrument (piano or violin) and vocal training.
After completion of the Bachelor's studies with combination of fields of pedagogical as, it is possible to continue further studies in any Master's degree programme (after satisfying the admission requirements).
