Training (Preparation) of basic school teachers for teaching of the general subject – branch Russian Language in combination of two certified subjects). The aim of this study field is to prepare primary school teachers for teaching the general subject – Russian language and literature (in the combination of two fields of study). While the academically oriented Bachelor’s degree programme forms the basic knowledge and skills in the particular fields, the Master’s degree programme focuses on the study of the didactics of the Russian language and on forming the relationships between the particular linguistic, cultural, and literary disciplines and the didactics of English. The focus is on the linguistic-didactic output of all the disciplines and the practical application of all the knowledge to the pedagogical practice at the upper level of primary schools.

After successfully completing his/her studies the graduate is able to:

  • speak grammatically accurately and without errors in pronunciation; his/her spoken language can thus become an everyday model to his/her pupils
  • has theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, communicative syntax, lexicology and stylistics
  • understand the basic linguistic terminology and is qualified to enlarge his or her knowledge in the field of linguistics - is able to study scientific literature in applied linguistics and linguistic didactics and draw conclusions for his or her own pe
  • has basic knowledge of the history, the everyday life, society, and culture of the Russian speaking countries and is able to apply it to his or her pedagogical practice
  • critically compare his or her own culture to the culture of other countries and is able to lead his or her pupils towards this ability
  • take advantage of the modern information sources and to use them in the primary school teaching - is able to arrange a direct contact with the target language countries in the form of a study trip
  • choose literary texts suitable for teaching at primary schools and work with them to raise the pupils’ interest and to develop not only their language competence, but also their personalities
  • has knowledge of the basic issues of language acquisition and is able to enlarge his or her knowledge in this field
  • apply the basic linguistic-didactic principles to practice
  • plan lessons, use combinations of various methods and forms of teaching, including modern approaches (project teaching, problem teaching)
  • creatively process didactic materials
  • flexibly react to changes and particular situations in his or her practice
  • develop professionally, based on self-reflection
  • co-work in conducting e-learning courses

Training (Preparation) of basic school teachers for teaching of the general subject – branch Mathematics (in combination of two certified subjects) Training (Preparation) of basic school teachers for teaching of the general subject – branch Physics (in combination of two certified subjects). Graduates of these courses can become Russian language teachers for upper grades of primary school (11-14 years), or non-teaching positions where excellent knowledge of Russian language is required (e.g. government service).
