The degree course is divided into two consecutive parts. The goal of the course is to provide graduates with employment potential in socio-pedagogic and guidance work. The socio-pedagogic module aims to prepare students for careers in state administration or civil service (e.g. school unions, civil service unions), state departments (Department for Work and Pensions), as well as in organizations in both government-affiliated and non-governmental spheres focused on educational activities or social services, which include conducting educational and guidance-based interventions as part of wide-ranging prevention.

The guidance module can be applied in counselling positions which offer interventions in the area of social or career guidance (e.g. in support of the job-seeking process, support for dealing with difficult social situations involving social services). The course will familiarize students with the major socio-pedagogical concepts, approaches, theories, and schools of thought.

Systematic preparation for work with clients will equip students for counselling work. The course will lead to conceptualization and understanding of social relationships of different types and severances of social and individual issues. The course will also prepare students for individual research and professional analytical work.
