Passing the study plan

Graduate student who have obtained the academic title "master" can take a rigorous state examination (Advanced Master's State Examination) in the field of natural sciences, which includes the defense of a rigorous thesis. After its completion, the academic title "Doctor of Natural Sciences" abbreviated "RNDr." is awarded.

Note, in Advanced Master's State Examination, the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University does not offer any degree programs in English.

The topics of rigorous theses are similar to the topics of master's theses. Due to the variety of research topics covered by the programme, it is recommended to consult the topic and form of rigorous work with the guarantor of the study program in advance.
