- The course assume that students have already passed a course on social policy during their bachelor degree programme.This course develops further the gained knowledge and presents a deeper insight into the policy of social security and social services, elaborating in more depth individual elements of social security policy, introducing to comparative models of social security policies, enhancing the knowledge on historical context, reform and instruments of social security and social services policy in the Czech Republic.

- The course precondition is that students have already passed a course on social policy during their bachelor degree programme. Its aim is to enhance and concretise basic knowledge about social security and delivery of social services, with focus on the Czech and EU conditions. At the end of this course, students should: • have comprehensive knowledge on policy of social security and social services, • be able to explain comparative models of social policy and their development • be able to explain motives of current reforms and potential and limitations of instruments used and discuss prospects and challenges of future reforms • have comprehensive knowledge on social security and social services policy in the Czech Republic • have their analytical, discussion and presentation skills improved. .

- Students have previous knowledge of social security from a number of subjects during Stages One and Two of their study. This course develops further the gained knowledge and presents a deeper insight into this important socio-economic system by the means of: concrete analysis of individual elements of social security, offering variants of possible solutions, their premises and consequences, comparing different social security systems from the historical and international point of view, analyzing the present state of transformation in the field of social security, and possible future development in the Czech Republic. The emphasis is put on the institutional and legal provisions, current issues, financial instruments and also on the present concept of organizing social services.

- Course objectives
- Students have previous knowledge of social security from a number of subjects during Stages One and Two of their study. This course develops further the gained knowledge and presents a deeper insight into this important socio-economic system by the means of: concrete analysis of individual elements of social security, offering variants of possible solutions, their premises and consequences, comparing different social security systems from the historical and international point of view, analyzing the present state of transformation in the field of social security, and possible future development in the Czech Republic. The emphasis is put on the institutional and legal provisions, current issues, financial instruments and also on the present concept of organizing social services.
