Course objectives
The course is linked to the required Public Policies I course and aims to deepen and concretize students’ knowledge of the public sector functioning; the course mainly focuses on three public policies (health policy, labour markets and social policy). The stress is put on the public policy formation and than mostly on economies and management of selected areas of the public sector. A comparison with EU countries, especially with France, is an integral part of the course. Students should understand and explain the basic concepts of selected public policies.
At the end of this course, students should:
- be acquainted with topical sources of public policies;
- be able to evaluate concrete public policies and their aims and tools on the basis of objective arguments.

  • a. Czech pension system

  • 3. Health policy
  • a. Health Care as a topic for economic theory
  • b. Health Policy, its main objectives. Essential choices.
  • c. Healthcare system and its funding
  • d. Healthcare in the Czech Republic
