Willingness to work on projects of the LEMMA laboratory in the areas (in the request for consent, please write in which of the following two parts, or a combination of both, you want to be involved in and what talents and prerequisites you have for it:
1. Film part (must have completed the course PV110): support and mentoring of PV110 Fundamentals of Film Speech (autumn) and PV113 Production of an audiovisual work (spring) or production of one's own student film for the purposes of FF FI MU.
2. Festival production: production and organization of the MU Faculty of Informatics Film Festival (FF FI MU). Preparation of the festival concept (autumn) and its implementation (spring) in the thematic areas of organization, PR, visuals, video, web, and technology.
Both groups also include research in the field of film science, electronic publishing, project use of video technology for e-learning, and preparation of educational video materials (Spring and Autumn).
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to teach students to work independently and consistently on the laboratory's audiovisual projects (film festival, materials for e-learning, documentary projects and their mentoring), or to participate in the research of the LEMMA laboratory, thus inflaming the desire to express themselves audiovisually through film language.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
* orientation in the production of a multimedia work, * orientation and argumentation of film language options, * orientation in organizing an event (event management), * experience with agile methods of project development, * teamwork and communication (soft skills) on the creative and production aspects of the creation of short works and/or * research work and communication in the team.
Syllabus
  • Two seminar groups are available:
  • 01 = a) Mentoring PV110 (Fall) and PV113 (Spring), b) LEMMA administration
  • 02 = Festival preparation.
  • You can enroll and participate in both groups.
  • Responsibilities of Group 01
  • a) Mentoring students in the PV110 (Fall) and PV113 (Spring) courses.
    Reviewing concepts, literary scripts, technical scripts (Fall), and supporting the production of film projects and the festival project (Spring).
  • b) LEMMA Administration
    Maintaining and operating the reservation system, ensuring the availability of camera, sound, and photography equipment for low-budget productions. Processing documentation and recommending filming and sound recording procedures. Proposing equipment purchases and writing grant projects for their acquisition.
  • Maintaining and operating the video archive, ensuring backup policies for LEMMA, including the festival archive.
  • Ensuring the availability software for video production, its identification, support, installation, and system maintenance at LEMMA.
  • Responsibilities of Group 02
  • Festival preparations, division into and staffing of 6 festival teams.
  • Organization - Securing sponsors, grants, and patronage, budget management, event planning.
  • PR - Promotion, media relations, contact events, social media management.
  • Visuals - Creating visual elements for print materials, social media, web.
  • Video - Preparing and producing trailers, moderator segments, and promotional videos.
  • Web - Maintenance, operation, and archiving of the festival website.
  • Technical - Managing departmental and technical support for screenings, technical processing of video content.

The teaching method is constructivist, personal or group leadership, and discussion of the audiovisual, organizational, and research projects of the laboratory.
Assessment methods
A condition for successful completion is an active contribution to the running of LEMMA: Ongoing preparation of the festival within one of the organizational groups, implementation of a smaller LEMMA project, tickets in LEMMA's GitLab (mentoring of the festival's organizing group, preparation of a report on topics related to PV110 Basics of Film Narratives and PV113 Production of Audiovisual Artefacts, for example, preparation of a recommendation for the use of a technique, processing of a digital archive of video material, documentation of a verified processing procedure, etc.) or active collaboration on a laboratory research experiment.

    Oprava námětů, literárních scénářů, technických scénářů (podzim) a podpora produkce filmových projektů a festivalového projektu (jaro).

    Údržba a chod rezervačního systému, zajištění dostupná kamerová, zvuková a foto technika a její možnosti využití pro nízkorozpočtovou produkci. Zpracování dokumentace a doporučení pracovních postupů natáčení, záznamu zvuku,... Návrhy na dokup techniky a psaní grantových projektů pro jejich akvizici.

  • • available video recording technology for low-cost production of short films; practical recommendations for documentation and cinematography
  • • available audio capture technology; practical recommendations for documentation and sound engineering
  • • available photo technology; practical recommendations for document processing, scanning, and documentary photography
  • • available word processing technology; practical recommendations for document processing and working with large text databases

  • • how to read scientific articles
  • • conducting and presenting research; practical recommendations for writing research articles, presenting them in front of a live audience, and visualizing research results

The teaching method are personal meetings, presentations, and discussions about the organizational, creative, and research topics of the LEMMA lab.

The condition for a successful completion of the course is either the realization of a small project (seminar group 01):
• mentoring of the group responsible for the organization of the faculty festival of short films
• reporting on a topic related to the PV110 (in autumn) and PV113 (in spring) courses

The aim of the course is to teach students how to work independently on audiovisual projects of the laboratory (film festival, materials for e-learning, documentary projects and their mentoring), or participation in laboratory research.

Student will be able to:
- participate in multimedia production and cooperate on the organizational and creative aspects of the creation of short films or
- research work and communication in a team.
Students also improve their soft skills.

  • Available camera technology and its capabilities for low cost production. Preparation of documentation and recommendations for shooting procedures.
  • Available sound technology and its use possibilities. Document processing and recommendations for sound recording workflows.

The condition for a successful ending is the realization of a small project (mentoring of the organizational group of the festival, elaboration of a report of the topic related to and , e.g. preparation of recommendation of using some technique, processing of digital video archive,...) or active collaboration on a laboratory's scientific experiment.

  • Camcorders (HDV, miniDV) and possibilities of their usage for low-budget movie production. Preparation of camcorder worksheets and suggestions of usage.
  • Available equipment for audio acquisition. Documentation of standard usage and hints for best usage for audio capture and handling.
  • Available camera equipment and their use. Scanning, documentary photography.
  • Software and techniques of document processing. Preparation of suggested handling of high volumes of textual data.
