Course objectives
At the end of this course student should have extensive critical knowledge of a comprehensive range of cryptographic problems. Should be able to independently search and critically evaluate materials for given cryptographic problems. Should be able to study and learn given problem using research papers and design practical solutions in concrete situations. The aim of this course is to extend knowledge of cryptography introduced in the course IV054 through lectures on selected topics. Active participation of students is expected.
Syllabus
  • Concrete topics are selected each term according to actual trends in cryptography and interest of students. They may include e.g. unconditionally secure digital pseudosignatures, message authentication, anonymous message transfer, random number generation, key distribution, etc.
Literature
  • Research papers provided during the lectures.
Teaching methods
Self-study of the problem based on the assigned cryptographic problem and literature, consultations with the lecturer, presentation of the assigned problem.
Assessment methods
Evaluation is based on the quality of learning and presentation of a selected topic within appx. 40 minutes talk, appx. 8 page report.
Language of instruction
Czech
Further comments (probably available only in Czech)
