- Course objectives
- The aim of subject Track and Field I is to provide theoretical knowledge and training practical skills:
- the correct technique of drive and stride phase of running,
- starts,
- the correct elementary, running and hurdle drills,
- hurdle running (3-step and 4-step rhythm),
- relay exchange (up-sweep and down-sweep),
- correct technique of throwing with a cricet ball and javelin
- basic rules of Track and Field events and principles of safety in the lessons.
- Learning outcomes
- After successful completion of the subject Track and Field I student will be able to:
- apply the correct technique of drive and stride phase, starts,
- demonstrate the correct technique of elementary, running and hurdle drills,
- use the correct technique of hurdle running (3-step and 4-step rhytm),
- practise relay exchange (up-sweep and down-sweep),
- manage correct technique of throwing with a cricet ball and javelin,
- analyze (and critically evaluate) the most frequently occurring errors in technique perform the above mentioned events,
- demonstrate knowledge of basic rules mentioned Track and Field events and safety on lessons.

- 1. lesson - warm-up, cool down
- 2. lesson - running drills
- 3. lesson - starts, rhythmizing excersises
- 4. lesson - technique of running
- 5. lesson - hurdle drills, rhythmizing excersises
- 6. lesson - training hurdle running (3-step and 4-step rhytm)
- 7. lesson - practise relay exchange (up-sweep and down-sweep)
- 8. lesson - practise relay 4x 60m, 4 x 100 m, 4 x 400 m
- 9. lesson - technique of throwing with a cricet ball and javelin
- 10. lesson - kids athletics - technnique of running development, speed development, endurance and hurdle running
- 11. lesson - preparation for fulfillment of the requirements
- 12. lesson - rehearsal of track and field rules and technique of mentioned events

- Practical exercises at the athletic stadium. Self study e-learning form.
- Assessment methods
- Credits are obtained after fulfillment of the requirements:
- active attendence in lessons (1 missed lesson is allowed),
- ability to perform 3 randomly selected running and hurdle drill excercise,
- . running over 6 hurdle (4-step rhytm and school-boys height),
- performing proper technique of drive (30 m) and stride (100 m) running phase,
- the correct technique of throwing with a ball
- pass written final test
