Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to:
acquait yourself with psychology of health as a special science discipline.
To interpret the most important pieces of knowledge of this discipline, first of all in aspects of prevention.
To explain and understand impact of psyche to the process and therapy of diseases.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to understand better the psychological issues of health and illness, the attitudes and values of the patients and their families, the dynamics of the system psychologist – doctor – patient. Goals:*To be able to analyze the psychological concepts of health and illness *To gain knowledge about relations within a professional group in the hospital *To gain knowledge about somatoform disorders

  • 1.Introduction (specific issue of the field, theory, concepts). 2.Health psychology (history, evolution). 4. + 5. + 6.Somatoform disorders (diagnosis, forms, therapy). 7.Life difficulties coping (definition, personal characteristic influence, effective struggle, manners, strategies, prevention). 8.Social support, family environment (theory, analysis level of social support, secondary profit from illness). 9.Psychoneuroimmunology (immune system functioning, dysfunction of IS, interaction of IS and psyche - experiments; psychoneuroimunologie in therapy). 10.Placebo (theory, variables of role, social learning, placebo in pharmaceutical research). 11. + 12.Biopsychosocial factors of health damaging (obesity; risk sex, accidental behavior). 13. At the end of the course students should be able to:
acquait yourself with psychology of health as a special science discipline.
Interpret the most important pieces of knowledge of this discipline, first of all in aspects of prevention.
Explain and understand impact of psyche to the process and therapy of diseases.

  • 1.Introduction (specific issue of the field, theory, concepts).
  • 2.Health psychology (history, evolution).
  • 4. + 5. + 6.Somatoform disorders (diagnosis, forms, therapy).
  • 7.Life difficulties coping (definition, personal characteristic influence, effective struggle, manners, strategies, prevention).
  • 8.Social support, family environment (theory, analysis level of social support, secondary profit from illness).
  • 9.Psychoneuroimmunilogy (immune system functioning, dysfunction of IS, interaction of IS and psyche - experiments; therapy potential psychoneuroimunologie).
  • 10.Placebo (theory, variables of role, social learning, placebo in pharmaceutical research).
  • 11. + 12.Biopsychosocial factors of health abuse (obesity; risk sex, accidental behavior).

Course objectives (in Czech)
Cílem kurzu je seznámení se s psychologií zdraví a nemoci jako speciální vědeckou disciplínou. Představíme si nejdůležitější poznatky tohoto oboru především z hlediska prevence. Budeme ale také hovořit o vlivu psychiky na průběh a léčbu onemocnění. Samozřejmou součástí každé hodiny bude diskuse a praktická cvičení vztahující se k tématům.

  • 1.Vymezení předmětu (charakteristika předmětu, teorie, pojmy). 2.Psychologie zdraví (historie, vývoj). 3.Psychická krize a intervence v lékařské ordinaci (rozhovor- význam, vedení, styl, cíle; pojem krize- definice, spouštěče, průběh, psychopatologie; krizová intervence, situace, prostředí- ordinace jako scéna). 4.+5.+6.Somatoformní poruchy (diagnostika, druhy, terapie). 7.Zvládání životních těžkostí (definice, vliv osobnostních charakteristik, efektivní formy boje, styly, strategie, prevence). 8.Sociální opora, rodinné prostředí (teorie, zjišťování míry a úrovně sociální opory, vztah soc.opory a zdravotního stavu- sekundární zisk z nemoci). 9.Psychoneuroimunologie (činnost IS, imunizace, dysfunkce IS, interakce IS a psychiky- pokusy; terapeutické využití psychoneuroimunologie). 10.Placebo (teorie, role přesvědčení a učení, placebo ve výzkumu účinnosti léků). 11.+12.Biopsychosociální faktory poškozující zdraví (nadměrný příjem potravy- příčiny, obezita a problémy s ní související; rizikový sex, nehodové chování).
