Cíle předmětu
The goal of the course is to make students familiar with the evolution of the Chinese foreign policy since 1949. Special attention will be paid to the domestic changes that influenced China's foreign policy. After the completion of this course, students should be able to: identify key themes of China foreign policy in the 20th century; explain the evolution of the Chinese foreign policy. The students should identify the domestic determinants of the foreign policy and foreign policy decision-making process in China.

Výukové metody
Lectures involve class discussions and require active participation.Readings serve to broaden and deepen the spectrum of knowledge students acquire during lectures. Presentations serve among others to improve presentation skills of students and their work with data.
Metody hodnocení
The course is finished by an written exam. It requires fulfilling of semester tasks. The final grade will be calculated as a composite evaluation consisting of seminar presence and activity, presentation, research paper, writing midterm test and final test.
