Course objectives
Course aims to develop the previous knowledge from the SOC143 Housing Sociology and Housing Policy approaching the housing and home on the micro level. Apart from reviewing the significant theoretical context, students will examine and adopt the competencies of housing research project design focused on everyday housing experience of the selected phenomena in the contemporary Czech society.

  • - housing and home as a problematic concept, theoretical introduction, topics of the research projects
  • - material culture studies: spaces, places, things and people
  • - housing, home, homeland and migration studies
  • - housing, home, and modern politics
  • - housing, home, and identity
  • - housing, home, and gender
  • - housing, home, and memory
  • - housing, home, and social exclusion
  • - housing, home, and homelessness
  • - presentation of students´research projects
