Cíle předmětu
This course is intended to introduce students to international security policy. It deals with the structure of the international security system and with global and regional (mostly European) security order. Students should be able to describe and to analyze main processes, actors and issues of the international security policy.

Výukové metody
The course takes the form of both lectures and seminars. There are explained various ascpects of international security policy within lectures, which are further analyzed and discussed during seminars.
Metody hodnocení
Students will receive a final letter grade (A-F) for the semester based on the following components (at least 36 points are necessary): 12 points Written seminary thesis Analysis of selected issue of contemporary international security policy. List of topics is in the IS. Criteria of evaluation: original authors approach, relevant goals and methods, conceptual or theoretical background, relevant data, clear structure, important sources. Length: 22 000-26 000 characters, including references, without list of sources Deadline: 5th January, 2013 (discussion about thesis is possible during seminary after e-mail communication with doc. Miroslav Mareš and his approval). Use of academic standards is necessary (form, style, references, list of sources) 12 points - In term test - 12 closed questions related to presentation of lectures and to materials presented during seminaries up to the date of in term test. Date of in term test: 22nd October 2012, in case authorized absence (according to norms of the MU or specific approval after previous e-mail communication with doc. Miroslav Mareš) is the different date possible (29th October of 5th November 2012). Correction of test is impossible. 36 points Final written test 6 open questions (each max. 6 points) related to obligatory literature and study materials (including presentations in the IS) At least 1/4 points from each part (3 from written seminary thesis, 3 from in term test, 8 from final written test) is necessary condition of this course! Grading: 56-60: A 51-55: B 46-50: C 41-45: D 36-40: E
