- Course objectives
- Academic debate is a course widely spread most notably at the American universities. At the end of this course, students should be able to use real-time reasoning about political and social issues and to present and advocate various stances on them. As a by-product, they will also understand how complex the policymaking is. They will be guided by the top competitive debaters.

- Teaching methods
- After the introduction to the Debate Rules, the students should pass the entry test to be able to participate in the seminars. For the purpose of the seminars running smoothly, there will be two groups, each of them having the debate session once in 14 days (the length is about 3hrs. per session)
- Assessment methods
- The course has been conducted as a seminar, attendance being split in two after two introductory lessons Completion requirements: To attend two theoretical lessons To extract points from written test (rules of academic debate: 33% of the workload) To participate on at least four of five debates and gain enough points therein: 67% of the workload It is required to gain at least 18 pts. out of 30 (60%) to complete the course.
