- Course objectives
- The course builds upon the traditional financial knowledge cultivated at the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University during the interwar period, in the form of financial propaedeutics, especially for students enrolled in programs accredited by the current Faculty of Law. The course is based on the concept of personal finance and introduces students to the genesis of this financial field, its causes of emergence, and focuses on investment decision-making strategies with practical applications. The subsequent modules of the course focus on income and expenses, saving and investing, selected securities, risks, and the classification of various asset classes within the framework of individual financial advisory. The course concludes by addressing current issues pertaining to personal finance in unpredictable situations arising from global and domestic political and economic crises.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, the student will be able to navigate the field of personal finance and gain a basic understanding of its financial and legal aspects. They will be able to describe the characteristics of savings and investments, selected securities, and the risks associated with them. Additionally, they will be able to define and differentiate between various asset classes.
