Course objectives
The purpose of the course is understanding of legal framework for transportation based on generalisation and specifics of particular types of transport - road, rail, riverine, sea and air. The course addresses problems of all types of transport.
Learning outcomes
The course graduate is capable to find specific legal framework addressing particular type of transport and resolve specific problems. In many cases, it is necessary to consider overlapping national, global, pan-European and supranational frameworks and terms of providers, measures of associations and guidelines of regulators.
Syllabus
  • Lessons:
  • /1/ introduction - methods, transportation meeting own needs and transportation for remuneration, types of transport, their origins and development,
  • /2/ institutions, international organisations, legal documents addressing transportation,
  • /3/ corridors, activity, means of transport, personnel,
  • /4/ transportation as a contract,
  • /5/ delays, failures, crimes, accidents - liability and insurance, /6/ transportation policies - construction, maintenance, business, support, taxation, environmental issues.
