- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issues of the general part of substantive criminal law; • acquire the ability to interpret and apply the norms of criminal law in specific cases. • Acquiring basic knowledge about the institutions of the general part of substantive criminal law for adults and juveniles. Gaining the ability to apply these institutes on examples from practice. Orientate yourself in the relations between substantive criminal law and other legal branches. Correct interpretation in practice. At the end of this course, the student will be able to: understand and explain the basic concepts of the general part of substantive criminal law; use information about the structure of the subject in practice; create a text on a criminal law topic; interpret criminal law and apply it in specific cases;

- Teaching methods
- Lectures/discussion. In the framework of the lectures also solve of the cases from practice. Work with the court decisions.
- Assessment methods
- Lectures/discussion, finished by the credit. Preconditions of the credit: The condition for successful completion of the course is the verification of knowledge by means of a written test, which consists of two parts and the material contained in it relates primarily to the substance of this semester, ie substantive criminal law - a general part. The first part of the written test consists of questions a, b, c, where there is always only one correct answer and the second part are open questions. The aim is that after completing the course, the student is able not only to have theoretical knowledge about the subject, substantive criminal law - general part, but especially to be able to apply this knowledge to specific cases / examples. The total number of points is 20 (up to 1 point can be obtained for each question), while the minimum for successful completion is 12 points.
