- Course objectives
- The course provides overview of the European Union, its origins and development, sources of law, institutions and procedures, basic economic freedoms and supplementary policies and membership of the Czech Republic. The course is intented for students of bachelor degree program "legal specialisations" of combined form. Nevertheless, it is understandable for every student. Orientation in the issue is necessary for everybody.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able:
- distinguish roles of international organisations and the European Union in integration of European countries,
- explain crucial supranational features of the European Union,
- understand methods of application of supranational law of the European Union in its member states,
- recognize importance of basic economic freedoms,
- indicate solution of simple cases of cross-border activities. - Syllabus

- Lectures, Reading including drills related to model cases.
- Assessment methods
- Written examination: 40 minutes (possible use of EC and EU Treaties) Parts: (1) test (10 x 4 questions) (2) model case Evaluation: maximum 20 points (10+10), success at least 12 points Grades assigned to successful students according to ECTS standard (A, B, C, D, E)
