- Course objectives
- The objective of the practical exercises and seminars from pathological physiology is to provide students basic idea about experimental work during pathological conditions (diseases).
- Syllabus
- Practical excercises:
- 1. Exp. induced peptic ulcer – quantification of gastric juice secretion in lab. animal
- 2. Hematopoetic disorders (seminar) – demonstration of the selected hematological findings (microscopy)
- 3. Use of enzyme (and other) markers in diagnostics of selected pathophysiological states – evaluation of LDH isoenzymes
- 4. Exp. induced vein thrombosis in lab. animal
- 5. Exp. induced diabetes mellitus – diagnosis by glucose tolerance test
- 6. Anaphylactic reaction (seminar)
- 7. Statistical evaluations of experiments (advanced methods)
- 8. Exp. induced haemolytic, hepatotoxic and obstruction jaundice in lab. animal
- 9. Eating disorders (seminar).

- Assessment methods
- Credit. Practical exercises are compulsory (absence can be excused only in case of sick leave). During the term, tutors can continuously test knowledge in written tests or students can be asked to elaborate special papers.Term tuition (blocks) is completed by credit, conditions for awarding credit are: i) participation in the practical exercises, ii) elaboration of protocols from experimental practical exercises, iii) further individually chosen tutor's criteria.
