Course objectives
The subject together with the subject Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine I is conceived as a theoretical whole.
Students will obtain the information and theoretical knowledge needed to provide nursing care to patients with reversible failure of essential life functions.
They will theoretically be equipped to perform monitoring, special diagnostic methods, and adequate care for patients with temporary replacement of vital vital functions or patients at risk of failure.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: -discuss methods and goals of nutritional support -describe the goals and complications of promoting renal elimination in intensive care - have basic knowledge of fluid therapy and hemotherapy in intensive care patients -take care of a potential brain-dead organ donors -to be able to determine the goals of managing patients with severe trauma and acute intoxications - to be able to interpret the basic principles of palliative care and decision-making in intensive care - be part of a team providing Advanced Life Support

  • Seminars:
  • 1st week: nutritional intervention in septic patients
  • 2nd week: nutritional intervention in patients with severe impairment of lung function
  • 3rd week: nutritional intervention in patients with severe gastrointestinal tract disease
  • Week 4: hyperglycemic coma casuistry
  • Week 5: haemorrhagic shock - casuistic
  • 6th week: septic shock - casuistry
  • Week 7: unconscious unclear etiology - casuistics
  • Week 8: Multi-Gender Failure - Casuistry
  • 9th week: intoxication - casuistry
  • 10th week: addictive substances in intensive care patients - casuistry
  • 11th week: the issue of withdrawal syndrome - casuistry
  • 12th week: artificial pulmonary ventilation, casuistry
  • Week 13: Detach from the fan. casuistics
