Course objectives
This is a web-based course supported by moodle. Students need to attend biweekly screenings at the faculty. Via web-links and by using files, students can read reviews and watch trailers to the films presented in a particular semester. Students may also participate in on-line discussion forums where they express their opinion on a film they viewed and evaluate the films from the point of learning language and culture relevance. The list of films change each semester.
The main objectives can be summarized as follows:
to improve language proficiency;
to learn about culture and societies of English speaking countries;
to see and understand how cultures are mirrored in the Anglo-Saxon film production.
Syllabus
  • Films of British and/or American Film Production. Focus for the Spring 2010 will be movies by Alfred Hitchcock. Genres: mostly drama, thriller. 6 - 7 films per semester.
