Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to: - to explain the most important linquistic styles, especially the functional styles, - to respect the language, stylistic and communication standards when speakung, - to understand and explain the dynamics of functional styles, - to interpret the stylistic theory and understand it.
Syllabus
  • 1 Orientation in the contemporary stylistic terminology. 2 Stylistic factors and their reflection in differentiated verbal communication. 3 Style differentiation of the contemporary Czech language as a reflection of a dynamic development of communication. 4 Formations and transformations of particular functional styles (publicist style, advertising style and others). 5 Characteristic features of functional styles (basic and principal styles from the social aspect). 6 Constant and variable stylistic values of the means of expression. 7 Levels of style, development of characteristic features (mentioned in lexicography). 8 Composition, style procedures and their modifications in a real communication.

Lectures. A lecture combined with sebsequent on the professional issues of the course.
Assessment methods
Subject is finished by credit. Credit requirements: Subject is finished by credit. Credit requirements: For a successful completion of the course, the students should complete a written test, where they freely formulate their answers and questions. The test is scored. Students must obtain at least an absolute majority of points.

Information on course enrolment limitations: Předmět je zařazen do 6. semestru a je určen posluchačům, kteří zahájili studium nejdříve v akademickém roce 2002-2003. Z tohoto důvodu se nerealizuje v akademickém roce 2003-2004.
