- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to equip students with fundamental socio-psychological theories and basic concepts and phenomena that examines social psychology. The themes of lectures are chosen so that students can utilize them in their profession. Curriculum is built on knowledge of the subjects: Introduction to Pedagogy and Psychology (in theory of basic emotions, types of learning, motivation, personality) and Developmental Psychology (attachment theory, socialization, development of relations). Students will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the impact of various social groups on the individual. Students will have the opportunity to reflect the different social influences on themselves as citizens and on themselves as teachers and also on their pupils. Seminars are focused on self experience and increase of a sensitivity in social activities and on a discussion on key topics of social psychology. Final evaluation involves both activities during the semester as well as the results of the written test.

- Syllabus of lectures:
- Session 1: The role of socialization in the formation of personality; Social phenomena in terms of evolution; Social relationships in early childhood, the attachment theory (Bowlby, J. and M. Ainsworth), the impact of early social experience in later life, social learning theory (Bandura A.)
- Block 2: Emotions: communicative function of emotions, the role of nonverbal behavior; Aggression: theory of the origin and course of aggression; Conflict types and dynamics during the conflict;
- Block 3: Inter-group relations: factors involved in intergroup behavior, the role of social groups at school age and adolescence; Social identity and self-esteem: how individuals affect membership in social groups, the development of self-concept in preschool and school age and adolescence; social perception
- Unit 4: The dynamics of social groups: social facilitation, social laziness, conformity, obedience to authority, influence social roles to individual behavior

- For the credit student must: • reading of the compulsory texts (student should answer questions related to them) • writes a final test, which checks the knowledge of basic terms, phenomena and theories. In the test 60 % of questions must be correctly answered.
