- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is an overview of the state of scientific knowledge in physics and Chemistry and across disciplines. Students will deepen their knowledge of physic and Chemistry and expand their horizons with interdisciplinary relationships within the system of natural sciences. Specific scientific discoveries will be considered in the context of the history, methodology and ethics of science. The starting point should be discoveries awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics or Chemistry. Furthermore, students will get acquainted with the basics of theories, which by their nature go beyond the traditional division of scientific disciplines (eg chaos theory, information theory). Objectives: Knowledge: A comprehensive overview of knowledge of physics with emphasis on the relationship of the subject to practice, nature, technical applications, etc. Skills: To be able to practically use methods of scientific work. Be able to identify the features of complex systems (feedback, delay, hysteresis ...) in specific cases and situations. Attitudes: To develop the student's relationship to the ethics of science and the perception of responsibility for scientific research in relation to society and the environment. The student should learn to take scientific knowledge into account when making decisions in everyday life.
