- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to teach students to understand the dynamics of the Czech language in synchrony and diachrony. Especially standard Czech is observed as a result of developments in its different language levels, particularly in morphology, lexicology and stylistics. Students will understand the trends in language not only in its system, but also in communicational practice. Students understand the relationships and connections between dynamic understanding of language on the basis of a comparison of changes and through a static understanding of language on the basis of enumeration of language facts. Students will be able to effectively apply the results of the dynamic language comprehension in research activities, which are focused on identifying and understanding of the dynamic state of certain categories, phenomenon or fact in the Czech language. Students are able to evaluate the benefits of these research results to the development of scientific knowledge.
