Course objectives
Graduates of the course will be well versed in the current concept of language skill diagnostics at an early and preschool age, will be acquainted with the meaning of a timely diagnosis of language skill development in children with identified and potentially identified risks. They will be acquainted with the basic principles of psychometrics. They will know how a psychometric test works, how scores are determined and how standardisation is carried out. They will be well versed on how to interpret scores as evidence for language development disorders
Learning outcomes
The student will gain theoretical knowledge about language ability diagnostics at an early and preschool age; will be well versed in the basic areas of psychometrics; will have understood the basic rules of language ability research. They will be able to use diagnostic tools established for language assessment at an early and preschool age.

Psychometric test 6. Standardization procedure, creating scores 7. Working with standards, interpretation of results 8. Tools for assessing receptive and expressive vocabulary 9. Tools for assessing grammatical structures 10. Tools for assessing phonological abilities 11. Batteries Diagnostics of Language Development - working with tests to assess vocabulary, comprehension of language and grammar 12.
