- Lower Secondary School Teacher Training in Physics (programme PdF, N-TV)
- Course objectives
- The course is designed as a final summary of a physics course with a didactic projection into school physics. The aim is to provide both a general overview and sufficient perspective, based on an awareness of integrative physical ideas, knowledge of general approaches, and an understanding of concepts of processes in nature in the broader context of the natural sciences. The interpretation relies on knowledge of the sub-disciplines of physics without reiterating details. The emphasis will be on conceptual physics
Objectives:
Knowledge: systematized basic concepts of physics with respect to the fundamental concepts of physics;
Skills: application of physics concepts, laws, theories in solving complex problems, including their communication to school practice;
Attitudes: ownership based on own knowledge and skills. - Learning outcomes
- After completing the course the student should know and know:
- Systematize physical knowledge; to create a holistic picture of the interconnectedness of individual parts physics
- apply integrative physical ideas to the didactic transformation of content into school curriculum,
- address physical problems in wider and interdisciplinary contexts. - Syllabus
- 1. Experiment as a tool for physical research and teaching.
- 2. Development of classical physics to quantum and relativistic picture of nature.
- 3. Integrating the concepts of physics (force, energy, interactions etc.) and their educational use in the classroom
- 4. Questions of development of physical knowledge of the universe.
- 5. Preparation of a didactic test in physics
- 6. Didactic application of digital technologies in the teaching process

- Teaching methods
- seminar, presentation of student outputs, discussion
- Assessment methods
- The student submits to the Course Submission Office his/her own solutions to the Physics Olympiad examples with a discussion of the authors' scores. Examples chosen: 4 elementary school level examples (categories E, F, G) and 4 middle school/G level examples (categories A, B, C, D).
On exit, the student will present: only 2 Elementary level examples and 2 Middle School/G level examples.
They choose the examples according to their interest.
The student will present a digital tool of his/her choice applicable to the teaching of his/her chosen topic in elementary school physics - Language of instruction
