Course objectives
The students should understand and use the information about the intervention and counselling in seniors with visual impairment. They should make deductions based on acquired knowledge about the possibilities of activation of these people in praxis.Student defines barriers for people with visual impairment and he/she suggests removing these barriers.

  • Themes: 1. Visual impairment in adults and seniors.
  • 2. The impact of visual impairment on the Quality of Life, psychological implications.
  • 3. Visual impairment and adjusting process.
  • 4. Counselling and intervention in visually impaired adults and seniors.
  • 5. Special aids for visually impaired.

Teaching methods
Lectures and homeworks, practical examples, discussion, excursion in social services.
Assessment methods
Semester paper, oral exam (70% of correct answers is needed to pass), presentation of selected topic. Activ attendance of the course.
