- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is to provide students with a means for developing and extending their use of English with particular emphasis on English related to teaching. It focuses on the English needed in the classroom, for studying the EFL teaching and learning, for participating in teacher development and teacher-training courses, conferences, workshops etc. The framework of the course is based upon a book called "Keynote Proficient". At the end of this course, students should have practiced and improved their classroom language as well as the English used in the EFL/ESL/TEFL/TESOL theoretical discourse. They should be able to interpret materials in English for professional development of teachers and make reasoned decisions about their teaching based on theory and practice.
- Learning outcomes
- By the end of the course, the student will: be able to discuss a wide range of topics connected to teaching be able to read and analyse news articles related to teaching be able to share their experiences with classmates and give advice on problematic issues in their teaching pass an exam at C1 level

- Teaching methods
- There will be seminar groups in which students will participate in pair-work, group-work and whole class-work. They will give a presentation and complete tasks for homework through Moodlinka and in the text books.In their presentation and in their forum entries they will be expected to reflect on issues observed in their teaching practice.
- Assessment methods
- moodlinka forum contributions and other participation on moodlinka - 10% (you must write in every forum and marks will be awarded for length of contributions, initiating discussions and answering other people's contributions and must be written in at least once a month). written assignment - 10% seminar presentation on a selected topic - 10% final test (based on ELT vocabulary and methodology covered in the course as well as listening and reading based on an educationally related topic) - 70% 70% must be attained overall Every week there will be an article (two for combined students) to read for homework and the vocabulary and questions to go with the article will be dealt with at the start of the following class.
