Course objectives
Lectures and seminars broaden students' knowledge and skills from Russian literature of 19th and 20th century. The course is focused on issues which are not included in obligatory subjects, but they are important for the development of Russian literature and also for the Czech-Russian context. The central topics are by means of overlaps connected with other types of art. The seminar focuses on using theoretical knowledge in practice, namely on practical analysis and interpretation of individual texts and discussion about them.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students understand the connections between Russian literature and other forms of art; they are able to outline the basic overview of the issue of Russian literature; they are able to present contextually significant representatives of Russian literature in the 19th and 20th centuries and their works; use actively the comparative method; critically interpret selected works of Russian literature of the 19th and 20th centuries.
