Prerequisites: BAX101, BAX102, and BAX103. Students of Baltic linguistics are not allowed to subscribe for this course.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course BAX103 follows after two-semester block of Lithuanian-studies (i.e. after BAX101 and BAX102) and gives the main knowledge of Lithuanian grammar for all those, who cannot attend the full program of Baltic studies. Lessons are widely open for everyone interested in the basics of Lithuanian language.
Learning outcomes
Student will have a knowledge on Lithuanian participles and their use. Will be able to decline Lithuanian determined adjectives and will have a broader knowledge of pronouns and prepositions. The vocabulary will be broaden, new topics will be health, living etc.

  • 1. Some special cases of the Lithuanian noun-declination.
  • 2. Declination of the "determinate" Lithuanian adjectives.
  • 3. Conjugation of the Lithuanian verb: reflexive and non-reflexive forms, modal verbs.
  • 4. Using numbers in the communication: exercises on the date and hours.
  • 5. Semi-participial constructions in the Lithuanian.
  • 6. Gerundial constructions in the Lithuanian.
  • 7. Expressing indirect speech: participial predication in Lithuanian

The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course BAX103 follows after two-semester block of Lithuanian-studies (i.e. after BAX101 and BAX102) and gives the main knowledge of Lithuanian grammar for all those, who cannot attend the full program of Baltic studies. Lessons are widely open for everyone interested in the basics of Lithuanian language.
Learning outcomes
Student will have a knowledge on Lithuanian participles and their use. Will be able to decline Lithuanian determined adjectives and will have a broader knowledge of pronouns and prepositions. The vocabulary will be broaden, new topics will be health, living etc.

  • 1. Some special cases of the Lithuanian noun-declination.
  • 2. Declination of the "determinate" Lithuanian adjectives.
  • 3. Conjugation of the Lithuanian verb: reflexive and non-reflexive forms, modal verbs.
  • 4. Using numbers in the communication: exercises on the date and hours.
  • 5. Semi-participial constructions in the Lithuanian.
  • 6. Gerundial constructions in the Lithuanian.
  • 7. Expressing indirect speech: participial predication in Lithuanian
