- Course objectives
- Introduction to aesthetics as a part of philosophy dealing with the phenomenon of beauty, the presence of beauty in artifacts and the problems of art. Introduction to the basic concepts, authors and works of the field. The graduate will gain a basic overview and competence in the field of aesthetics.

- Students are able to have a basic orientation in the field of aesthetics.

- Teaching methods
- The lecture follows the individual preparation of the listener (assigned literature). Interpretation of general and special issues by the teacher, guided interpretation of selected texts, discussion.
- Assessment methods
- The written test always consists of questions based on the topics presented and multiple-choice questions: Exam: a written test of the topics presented and the given text; graded credit: a written test on the topics presented and the text (differs from the exam by a lighter grading); credit: a written test on the topics covered and the text (differs from classified credit by a lesser classification); colloquium: a written test on the lectured topics and the given text (classified as credit) plus a discussion on the selected topic.
