Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to use the terminology of folk clothes, recognise clothing and regional types, name individual parts of clothing by pattern.
Syllabus
  • basic general literature, development in research, differences in methods and/or schools, terminology in clothing and folk clothing, factors influencing the evolution of folk clothing and forming of individual types (reflection of geographical area, social relations and employment, ethnical, historical and religious influences), technology of producing textile materials from home to industrial processing, types and methods of decoration
