- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the study of the relationships between cinema and literature. We will compare the novel/short story and film as narrative arts while examining the dialogue that ensues when film interprets literature. Students will be able to explore issues pertaining to each medium as well as larger questions relating to adaptation, translation, and interpretation, to use basic terms from the field of the theory of adaptation.

- Zajęcia o stosunkach pomiędzy filmem i literaturą. Omówienie podstawowych pytań i wątków zawartych w twórczości wybranych pisarzy polskich oraz problematyka ekranizacji poszczególnych utworów. Częścią zasadniczą seminarium jest wspólne oglądanie filmów.

- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the study of the relationships between cinema and literature. We will compare the novel/short story and film as narrative arts while examining the dialogue that ensues when film interprets literature. Students will be able to explore issues pertaining to each medium as well as larger questions relating to adaptation, translation, and interpretation, to use basic terms from the field of the theory of adaptation.

- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the study of the relationships between cinema and literature. We will compare the novel/short story and film as narrative arts while examining the dialogue that ensues when film interprets literature. Students will be able to explore issues pertaining to each medium as well as larger questions relating to adaptation, translation, and interpretation, to use basic terms from the field of the theory of adaptation.
