- Course objectives
- At the end of this course the students should be able to:
- understand problems concerning different modes of representing Otherness in Quebec literature and apply this analysis to Canadian, especially Frech-Canadian literary works
- use informations on Canadian, especially Frech-Canadian literature - Syllabus
- 1. Identity and Otherness and their philosophical, sociological and literary aspects. 2. Epistemic dimension of art. 3. Identity schemes involvinf Self and Other and their interpretation in the text. 4. Canadian identity in historical context. 5. The issue of national literature. 6. How to represent an Anglo-Canadian? 7. How to kill the Anglo-Canadian (French-Canadian) in oneself? 8. How to accept the Anglo-Canadian as Other 9. How to deal with the "francité".
