Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the practical functioning of the program department of the festival Serial Killer and its organizational structure with the position of a researcher / reviewer. The subject of the activities will be research and report of the television serial production of Central and Eastern European countries. The course includes two separate lines in the preparation and realization phase of the festival: a) Preparatory phase - searches and reports. This line includes roughly 3 months of continuous work according to the assignment. b) Realization phase - internship: the second optional and uncredited output is a professional internship in the program department of the festival. This line includes a one-month stay of just one month before and during the festival
Learning outcomes

Understand the problems of the festival.
Orient in the field of contemporary European serial production.
Acquire the skills of a researcher and work with information from foreign sources.
Be able to engage in a debate about TV genres and formats.
Syllabus
  • Theoretical and organizational preparation.
  • Research of television serial production.
  • Survey of information sources (predominantly foreign-language).
  • Dramaturgical reports of serial production for the selection of the competition.
  • Collaboration on creating a competition section and possibly other festival sections.
  • Work in the program department and eventually in other festival departments.
