Course objectives
The main content of the course are selected themes of the ancient Greek literature, that have been explored recently and could not be explained in the courses History of the Classical Literature I-IV due to the shortage of time.
At the end of this course, students have a thorough knowledge of the selected topics of the ancient Greek literature.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course the students:
  • can handle with a selected problem of the Greek literature;
  • are also informed about the relevant secondary literature.

    • V tomto semestru se kromě hostovských přednášek zaměříme na témata dle individuálního výběru účastníků kurzu tak, aby tato byla přínosem pro jejich diplomové téma. Studenti budou pod vedením vyučující připravovat a sami svým kolegům prezentovat vybraná témata řecké literatury. 27. 3. proběhne v rámci předmětu přednáška doc. Tomáše Vítka z Fakulty humanitních studií UK (téma bude upřesněno) - účast povinná;

    Teaching methods
    Planned learning activities and teaching methods consist of lectures, scientific essays and their presentations.
    Assessment methods
    Credits are awarded for the completion and presentation of an essay on a selected topic pertaining to ancient greek literature. The essay has to meet the standard formal scholarly criteria (use of relevant secondary sources, proper citations in footnotes, etc.) The topics of the essays will be specified at the last lecture session.
