- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide basic orientation in both theoretical and historical problems of the repertory of love-poetry on the French and German medieval courts.
- Syllabus
- The subject of this course is made up by following thematic spheres: 1) The historical and social background of the medieval court-culture. 2) The courtly love-song as an literary form 3) The courtly love-song as an musical form 4) The courtly love-song of the French Middle Ages 5) The courtly love-song of the German Middle Ages 6) The courtly love-song of the Czech Middle Ages For a more detailed syllabus - please see the Study materials in IS MU (VH_782)
- Teaching methods
- Class (1,5 hours per week); within the class a combination of teacher-led activities and student-centered learning will be emploed.
- Assessment methods
- The course is ended by a credential interview, success of which is based on: 1) Reliable knowledge of historical and theoretical problems of the medieval love-song given by the syllabus and lectures. 2) Reliable knowledge of basic sources and literature on the subject.
