- (UNDER CONSTRUCTION) Problem-Solution and similar patterns. Patterns based on appraisal: attitude and engagement. Intertextuality. Signalling nouns. Coherence relations and their signals. Visualizing discourse structure. The notions of style, text type, register and genre. Different approaches to genre (SFL, ESP, New Rhetoric). Move structure. Genre colony. Top-down and bottom-up approach. Vocabulary-based discourse units. Topological and typological perspectives on genre. Multimodality and genre.
