- Course objectives
- Students will achieve knowledge of basements of andragogy and of principles of adults learning generally. They will understand specifics of using teaching methods in the process of adult education. Factors influencing effectiveness of learning process will be discussed and also methods and forms of adult learning. Special attention will be focused on the personality and techniques of lecturer's work.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- desribe and explain basic categories of andragogical thinking,
- discuss educational aims and goals, curriculum, methods of education and training, and their mutual relations,
- present most influential scholars and to characterize their main ideas. - Syllabus
- 1. Andragogy – disciplinary frameworks, characteristics.
- 2. Adult education today, contexts and documents for Czech republic and European community.
- 3. Adult education theories.
- 4. Adult learner in andragogy.
- 5. Adult education in national and international perspectives, Czech and European educational policy.
- 6. Adult education institutions. Professions in adult education. Adult education financing.
- 7. Didactics of adult education.
- 8. Contemporary adult education concepts. Lifelong learning. Formal, nonformal and infomal learning and education.
- 9. In-company training. Individual and organizational development.
- 10. Self-education concepts and reflexive practice (Lewin, Kolb, learning cycle etc.). Self-education support.
