- Course objectives
- Being literate in the 21st century does not mean just to be able to write and read words. We perceive a large part of the information visually, but we pay very little attention to systematic thinking and practice in understanding images. The aim of the course is to support the active development of your visual literacy, that is to show you the way to effectively search for visual information, read it critically, use it ethically and use it for your original work.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to: - consider possible meanings and contexts of the use of visual information; - identify threats associated with image manipulation; - use basic terminology for formal image analysis; - create a simple infographic, poster or data visualization; - make proper visual adjustments to the document; - effectively search for visual information and correctly cite it according to citation norms.
