Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with a holistic picture of cinema as a living organism consisting of individual representatives of creative professions, public institutions and private companies, whose interaction co-creates the audiovisual industry. The course will introduce students to both the history of Czech cultural policy and the film industry after 1989, as well as methodological frameworks and tools that can be used in the research of creative industries and the actors operating in them.
Learning outcomes
Students will be thoroughly familiar with the current environment of the Czech audiovisual industry and with the historical, political and social causes of its current status. Students will be able to use the tools of production studies for their own research and will gain knowledge for better orientation in sources available for consequent research.
