- Course objectives
- The course’s main aim is to familiarize students with historical concepts which appear when reading academic historical literature at a normal level. This does not involve an analysis of historical sources written in German (historical German), but contemporary German. The lecturer will supplement the text analysis with an examination of the different interpretations of German terms and with the various connotations of concepts relating to history.

- To distinguish the historical meanings of selected vocabulary. To identify words relating to historical processes and distinguish them from neutral language.

- Reading and analysing preselected academic historical texts.

- An analysis of German academic texts from the 19th and 20th centuries, focusing on terms relating to historical development.
- Assessment methods
- The final written text will be accompanied by an oral exam. The oral exam can be taken after the written test has been completed.
