- Course objectives
- Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of this subject is to acquaint the student with the Ukrainian literature of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, the development of poetry and prose of this period in general. The individual lessons of this literary-historical subject are devoted to the development of Ukrainian literature in the post-Soviet and Soviet periods, the curves of independence of Ukraine and to the present, the characteristics of major development tendencies, the life and creation of significant writers of Ukrainian literature of the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century. The literature of the generation of so-called "sixties", historical prose, intellectual and urbanistic prose, post-Byzantine work, the literature of the generations of the so-called "eighties", the birth of the Ukrainian postmodernism, the major artistic tendencies and the extraordinaryness of the Ukrainian postmodernism, flight. Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to explain the literary development in a cultural and social context, to know the main literary trends, streams, groups and organizations, and to be able to talk about the important personalities created by the Ukrainian literature. The student will be acquainted with the leading pieces of Ukrainian literature of this period.
