Course objectives
The subject combines lectures and seminar activities suitable to familiarize students with key methodological questions of literary and cultural history and to enable them to analyze these questions in scientific texts.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to identify key issues of literary and cultural history. They will be able to orient themselves in the canonical texts of cultural theory. They will be able to analyze problematic places in conceptualizing the writing of history in monolingual and multilingual (post-national) space. P
Syllabus
  • In the spring semester of 2021, the seminar will be devoted to the issue of cultural transfer in general, which will be methodologically demonstrated on two European phenomena - dandyism (briefly) and existentialism. : - historical and cultural conditions of origin, reception, development and further transmission - social transfer - cultural transfer - literary transfer - actors, actors, cultural patterns Lecturers: prof. Kyloušek, dr. Juliane Werner, doc. Bubeníček Lectures and seminars will focus on: - Concept of Literary History in Russian Formalism, Czech Structurism, Anglo-Saxon New Historism - literary history of old literature - models of literary history that are used for the literary and historical conceptualization of Czech-German relations in the 19th and 20th centuries - Alternative concepts of literary history, which are defined in relation to national philological concepts. - general problems of transculturality - Literary-historical problems of individual modern literatures.
