- Course objectives
- A part of the doctoral exam is the defence of doctoral theses (not to be confused with the defence of the dissertation). The preparation of these theses happens mostly during Seminar Preparing for Doctoral Exam.
- Learning outcomes
- After passing the course, students will be able: to finish research results for submission.
- Syllabus
- The first part of the doctoral exam consists of a presentation and discussion of 1 doctoral thesis selected by the exam committee from the total of 3 submitted theses. The theses must be approved by the chair of the programme committee in advance; the theses must be officially submitted 2 months before the exam (both in a paper form and electronically to the department); inappropriate theses can be refuted, requiring their revision. The choice of the theses is consulted with the supervisor. No thesis may overlap with the topic of the dissertation. Topics and also fields of the submitted theses must be pairwise disjoint. The fields: history of philosophy, epistemology, ontology, logic, ethics etc.

- The credit is given by the chair of the board after the doctoral theses are officially delivered.
